There are some working tracks but they are not tourist grade. The regenerated forest is mostly mature for walking in some sections but keep an eye out for low branches. A walking line of ribbon markers is available from a recent species survey of the site. One of the interesting results of the regeneration has been the noticed return of log-runner bird activity in this area.
Description
The site is known as the Contour/Long Roads Ecological Zone. The Site is approx 5.8 hectares enclosed by Long Road, Contour Road, Kamet Court and Forsythia Drive in Eagle Heights. Three quarters of the property circumference shares boundaries with 30 small residential blocks.
Contour Road is one of Landcare's many regeneration sites and an important part of the organisation's plan to establish and maintain natural vegetation and wildlife corridors across the mountain, based on water courses.
Look over the edge of this steep site and you'll notice a small creek that runs along the back of the houses at the northern end of Long Road. This joins with a second creek and flows through the Botanic Gardens. Regeneration of these creeks to their natural state is a major step in developing vegetation and wildlife corridors in this part of Tamborine Mountain

WARNING: GPS positioning technology and GPS device quality have accuracy variances so that tracks may appear to stray from the actual location by many metres. This may imply traversal of private properties in suburban areas. It is our policy not to enter private properties without permission and we trust that any tracks indicating same are solely due to those inaccuracies. Any user of these tracks should absolutely refrain from entering private property without permission.
