Only 4 walkers today as many were away - 8 am start. Gary and Michele picked up Julie and Colin and drove down to Ed Parker Rotary Park Sutherland St Kingscliff. We set off walking just before 8 am. There was a Parkrun happening and it was a nice shady track as we headed towards Cabarita Beach. We saw some lovely sculptures and also a variety of birds along the way and many friendly people saying hello as they passed by.
We then walked along the beach for about a km and up to the Bakery to buy a yummy treat which we took with us to sit on a rocky outcrop under some Pandanas Palms overlooking the ocean near Cabarita Hill. What a lovely spot for morning tea and Gary spotted some whales as well whilst we were sitting there enjoying the sound of the waves rolling in and watching some surfers.
We walked up to Norries Headland for some more lovely views. No whales spotted this time. On our way back the tracks were in the sun but it was still a lovely walk. We enjoyed our lunch at Salt Village and then continued our walk back to where we'd left the car. A lovely day and it turned out being about around 19 kms. Julie Cullen
