A clear, bright, day that started cool and windy but soon warmed up to meke it perfect for the Lower Portals + Barney Falls walk.
When we arrived at Barney Creek the water was very, very low so we easily walked around the rocks to view the last of the Lower Portals and rock pool.
The walk up to the ridge line and then along to Barney Gorge camps was too difficult for some who returned to picnic at the Lower Portals. The rest of us continued on to the camp site and thendid the rock hopping down to first Barney Falls and the to the upstream Lower Portals view before returning to the climb exit.
We were all very tired when we got to the Lower Portals car-park but all agreed it was a magic day and with Barney Creek very low the rock pools were magnificent - Colin
