Total Distance walked - 13.0k
The walk of 17.0k has it all and passes many impressive waterfalls and creek cascades. The first of the waterfalls was Rainbow Falls, a 60metre drop, 15 minutes into the walk. Next was Coomoolahra Falls, a sequence of falls on Mundora Creek dropping 280 metres.
At Ngarri-dhum Falls we had smoko and enjoyed the warmth of the morning sunshine and good conversation. After being thoroughly refreshed we continued on to the Meeting of the Waters (confluence of two creeks) where we lingered to enjoy the sunshine and the views.
At the Gooroolba Falls we stopped to have lunch. We were making good time so again we took our time over lunch and enjoyed the falls. From Gooroolba Falls the track starts to zigzag its way back up the escarpment and passes Poonyahra Falls, Poondahra Falls and Blackfellow Falls. All of these falls are on the same creek and we meet the creek again and again as we zigzag up the escarpment.
We finally reached the top of the escarpment and met up with the Twin Falls Circuit, going right to make our way back along the top part of the circuit past Canyon Lookout, Tallaringa Lookout, Bellaringa Lookout and Twin Falls lookout before arriving back at the Tallanbana Picnic Area.
A wonderful walk which, while it is long, is a very comfortable walk which can be done in reasonable time at an easy pace – Colin
