We watched a pair of Striated Pardalotes entering and leaving their nest hole in the side of the creek bank. We all wondered why such a tiny bird would choose to dig a tunnel (40-90 cm long according to Michael Morcomb’s Fieldguide) and build a nest at the end of it. One of natures’ mysteries.
